REA Membership

Andover and Winchester affiliated members should consider further

supporting the REA by joining their local Branch.

The benefit of joining provides an opportunity to stay in touch with the corps activities as well as enjoying the friendship and support of our members.

Currently there are three types of membership within the REA organisation and is therefore quite widely thought of as only one, please read the different types of membership below

Memberships

Life Membership

Anyone who served in the Corps of Royal Engineers, Regular or Reserve, is eligible to join the REA. Those that contributed to the Days Pay Scheme (DPS) can take up Life Membership free of charge within the REA organisation.

This will therefore allow you to be affiliated to any branch you choose in the

Online Membership Form

(All new Life members to be allocated to a primary branch with effect from January 2024 to reduce numbers in the HQ Branch)

Widow & Widowers Membership

Widows and widowers of any former Royal Engineer or veteran (regular or reserve) are eligible for this type of membership. Widow & Widowers members are approved by a branch vote. Widow and Widowers members may be subject to different costs when attending centrally funded REA events, for example, Corps Memorial Weekend. No fee is required by REA HQ for this type of membership.

Branch Membership

To become an active member of our Branch you chose to be affiliated to, in your REA membership form, annual subscription is currently free of charge and will be reviewed annually at the AGM.

Family & Friend's Membership

This type of membership is aimed to encourage those who have had a close affinity with the Corps and wish to keep that connection going. Family and Friend members are approved by a branch vote. Family members may be subject to different costs when attending centrally funded REA events, for example, Corps Memorial Weekend. No fee is required by REA HQ for this type of membership.

Associate Membership

With effect from January 2024, there will be no new allocation of associate memberships, but existing associate members shall remain so.

All Arms Membership

Veterans and serving of any arm or service (including Cadet Force Instructors) are eligible for this type of membership. All Arms members are approved by a branch vote. The number of All Arms veterans is not to exceed 40% of the branch veteran membership. All Arms members may be subject to different costs when attending centrally funded REA events, for Page | 19 example, Corps Memorial Weekend.
